I.O.H. provide the occupational health services to Northumbria Police with a team of occupational physicians, physiotherapist and occupational health nurses based at the Ponteland Head Quarters.

Northumbria Police hosted their first ever Excellence Awards held at Newcastle Civic Centre on Tuesday 9th March 2010. The event hosted by TV presenter Pam Royal and Chief Constable Mike Craik was very well attended and recognised the good work of all Northumbria Police officers. IOH were among the many proud sponsors of the ten awards on offer. The category which IOH sponsored recognises officers who have made an outstanding contribution. The nominees may think they are just doing their job but their efforts make a real difference to the service Northumbria Police provide. The award was presented by Dr J F Wollaston on the night to the winner, DC Sandra Tiffin. Northumbria Police released the following to the media:-

Dr Wollaston, as Chairman and Founder of IOH expressed his personal pleasure to be associated with Northumbria Police and in particular to make the award of “Outstanding Police Officer of the Year” to DC Sandra Tiffin, “she clearly had earned that accolade.”
